C. S. W. Rehabilitation Project

This year, a new risky project called Commercial Sex Workers Rehabilitation Project of saving the girls from prostitution has been initiated with a vision to teach them live a pure and holy life and make them good citizens of India. These girls have been sold by their parents to some men who told them that their daughters will be becoming movie stars in Mumbai and make a lot of money to help them in the future. Little did they know that they will end up in the brothels as sex slaves catering to European and American market. We have setup to pay off the gangsters who are holding them as hostages and bring them out and either take them back to their home village or help them to get rehabilitated in a home set up for them. Here are some case stories of these unfortunate girls:

 1. Name:          Sunita Shetty (Name has been changed)

    Age   :            28 years

    Native Place:  Nepal

    Children:       2 (1 Daughter & 1 Son)

Sunita is a resident of Nepal. She has three younger brothers and two younger sisters, and they are staying with their family. Before 18 years, when she was working in a woolen factory, she got acquainted with a lovely couple who were also employed in the same factory. One day this couple arranged a picnic and Sunita also accompanied them. They gave her some snacks, after eating which she felt very drowsy and soon she became unconscious. After some hours when she woke up, she found herself in a different country. The couple brought her to Mumbai in India and sold her to a brothel keeper for Rs. 40000 and she was forced for prostitution. Subsequently she was mentally and physically abused by the brothel keeper and after one year, she was sold again for Rs. 50000. After 2 years, one man came to her and promised her to take her out of this hell. She trusted him but he also defrauded her. He took her to another Red-light area & forced her in the same profession. That man was married and he along with her wife used to beat her severely. They never gave food to her. Sunita had to sell herself in order to give money to them. She also has two children from that man.

2. Name:              Susheela Samuel (Name has been changed)

    Age   :              30 years

    Native Place:   Nepal

Susheela came to Mumbai when she was 10 years old. Little did she know that she had to work in the flourishing sex industry. She was cheated by her relative who promised her parents that she would get a good job in Mumbai and earn a good salary. Instead of the job she had been promised, she ended up being sold into prostitution in an ordeal that was to last for a long time. She was brought to a rental place where she was forced to sleep with many men a day in order to pay the rent for the place failing which she was beaten severely.

3. Name:             Laxmi (Name has been changed)

    Age   :             45 years

    Native Place:  Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh

Laxmi made what was probably the biggest mistake of her young life when she agreed to go on a trip to Mumbai with a group of new friends. Instead of the few days of fun she had been promised, she ended up being sold into prostitution. She was tormented and forced to sell her several times a day. The brothel keeper gave her little or no money and kept her in the brothels mainly through fear, occasionally selling them on to other traffickers "like cattle".

4. Name:             Geeta (Name has been changed)

    Age   :             45 years

    Native Place:   Kolkata

    Children:          3 (2 Daughters & 1 Son)

Geeta was 13 years old, when one of her friends cheated her and sold her to a brothel keeper. She was in a bungalow for nearly 8 years doing the same business everyday. She also has three children from a man who slept with her several times. Two of her children are married and one younger daughter is 18 years old.
